A TRAFFIC warden put a parking ticket on a lorry — while its driver lay dead at the wheel.

The warden had inspected the illegally parked HGV but failed to see Nicholas Allcock, 52.

Paramedics later found Mr Allcock dead in the front seat of his cab outside Farm Foods in Bolton, Gtr Manchester.

A post mortem revealed Mr Allcock had died of natural causes.

Bolton coroner’s court confirmed there would be an inquest in due course.

Contractor NSL issued the ticket in March on behalf of Bolton Council.

A spokesman said: “There was nothing to suggest that the driver was in his cab at the time the ticket was issued.

“All of our thoughts go out to the driver and his family and friends.”
