JOHNNY DEPP, business magnate ELON MUSK and a gaggle of film pals have been busted for speeding - inone of Elon’s electric Tesla cars.
While most colleagues go for beers after work, actor Johnny, Tesla Motors founder Elon, WALLY PFISTER — director of Johnny’ s new film Transcendence — and co-stars PAUL BETTANY and REBECCA HALL crammed into one of the flash motors for a high-speed drive. But their joyride was stopped short by cops, who gave them a dressing down.
Johnny revealed: “I had one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. The director introduced me to Elon Musk at Tesla.
“He came and visited the set and we had a ride around in his car but then the police pulled us over.
“We had a first — maybe the first — Tesla jam. I was in the front seat while Paul Bettany was sitting on my lap. Rebecca and Wally were in the back. Elon was driving and we were pulled over speeding. Elon had a good sense of humor about it.
“The cop did not. He needed a humour chip. But it was a good time, nonetheless.”
To prepare for his role as a scientist in new sci-fi film Transcendence — out here on April 25 — Johnny met with some of the most brilliant brains in the US, spending time at the University of California, Berkeley.
But despite starring in the futuristic flick — and his new hi-tech Tesla buddy — Johnny admitted he is not up-to-date with the latest technological advances.
He said: “As far as technology … let me put it to you this way.
“My kids are smart enough to not come to me for any questions about the computer, even homework for that matter.
“Unless it’s got to do with history or the future or music, I’m good. If it’s math and all that, I’m down the road.”
In his new shiny Tesla.
