SUZUKI’S sexy little supermini, the Swift, above, is set to go five-door only when the new version arrives this year.
The three-door version was scrapped as we tend to opt for the larger motor.
The supermini market is the biggest in Britain, but people still want practicality with their little cars.
The Swift is the jewel in Suzuki’s crown. I’m a huge fan, and so is the rest of the world – the firm has shifted 5.3 million units in its 12-year history.
The new model, which will be showcased at the Geneva Motor Show in March, will offer a choice of two engines – a 1-litre turbo or 1.2-litre turbo.
One thing Suzuki knows how to do well is make the most of a tiny engine, so don’t be fooled by the small capacity.
